What is a script error?
A script error appears as a message to users when your PC can’t access a program or web page because it can’t understand or implement the command. Script errors are one of those things that can originate in your system or in the page’s source code. Often they appear in dialog boxes that ask whether or not you want to continue running scripts or it will say that the page you have loaded is missing components due to a script error.
Dealing with Script Errors One Step at a Time
If your system is aging or your 8th grader has been adjusting your Internet Explorer settings, you will probably be seeing a lot of script errors. There are a couple of steps you can take to help eliminate these errors on your PC.

You can disable script errors in Internet Explorer by opening the Tools menu, followed by Internet Options, and then the Advanced tab. Click the check box for “disable script debugging.”
-
Regularly delete your temporary Internet files. Open the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, followed by Internet Options, and then the General tab. Under Temporary Internet Files click on Settings. Here you can delete cookies, history, and temporary files.
-
Double check that ActiveX, Java, and Active Scripting are enabled in Internet Explorer.
