Adobe is a company that is constantly working to improve its products, which means lots of updates that users need to stay current with for a proper and complete Internet experience. It’s hard to keep track of this download and that update on your computer and before you know it, you’re on the receiving end of access errors or buggy performance. Two programs that make it simple to find and download updates are Adobe Flash and Adobe Reader.

Adobe Flash Download

Flash Player is a program that allows users to view animations and interactive features within web sites. With it, streaming video is integrated into web pages, mouseovers are possible, and advertisements can include eye-catching animations.

If you have your Global Notifications enabled, Adobe will automatically tell you when there is a new Flash update available. To see what your Global Notification settings are:

1) Open Adobe Flash.
2) Go to the Settings Manager.
3) Click on Global Notifications Settings panel.
4) Check the “Notify me” box and select how often you want Flash to search for updates.
5) You can choose from every seven to 60 days.

You also have the option of manually checking what version of Flash Player you have by visiting: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/. This web page will run a (very) quick diagnostic and tell you what version is currently on your computer and what the latest versions are.

To manually download any upgrades, just visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/, which will direct you to the latest and greatest.

Adobe Reader Download

Adobe Reader is a program that allows users to view and print PDFs, or Portable Document Format. Staying on top of updates will ensure that you get the best Reader experience possible. To find out what version of Reader you have:

1) Open Reader.
2) Go to the Properties menu.
3) Click on Adobe Reader.
4) Click on About Adobe Reader.

To see what free downloads and updates are available for Reader, you can visit Adobe’s downloads section. Here you can view listings for updates to older versions as well as the complete downloads for the latest versions.
